Epic Videography!

Epic Videography Promo from Mark Hiebert on Vimeo.

So this is Epic Videography. The mastermind behind all the video's that you have seen on all of our pages. We are honoured and privilidged to be working with such great talent. I believe it was mentioned how we got connected with Mark Hiebert at Epic Videography in a past blog, but in sort... HE contacted us! He was our first sponsor to contact us, and want to be apart of the project of our wedding!

We are thrilled at the work that he has produced and continues to 'wow' us, and you, as our readers, with. A little on his background would be to say this...

Would you ever expect that a wedding gift from a friend, could launch you into a business that would one day become your full income?? Well, that is where Mark got started, and where he is headed!

Videography releases a visual talent, an art form, one that can take the most ordinary of people, to the extraordinary and celebrity status... in a matter of moments. The joy of your day, whatever that day maybe, is what Mark captures. He mines for the gold in you, refines it through a lens and through a film, allows others to see... you.

"And there is almost nothing is more satisfying than being able to capture other couples memories for them" - Epic Videography Website.

On a personal note...

Since Kyle and I have begun working with Mark, he and his wife have become friends that we will likely be connected to for a long time. They are a wonderful couple with only the best to offer in friendship.

When we originally set up our first meeting with them, we had no idea how far this would end up going. We had no idea that on the outset, that we would be seeing Mark, at least once a week until our wedding. We are still (I believe 76 days?) from our wedding, and we already feel that we have seen the gold in Mark and his wife (Melissa).

Working with Mark as our videographer has been a delight, and his work is beyond the 'WOW' factor. You only need to watch his own promo video, to see this.

All of his contact information is available on his website and on our website, and we HIGHLY implore you to contact him. He goes beyond weddings and will film any special day that you have, and I can guarantee that you will love the work that he does.

If you have any questions on Epic Videography, or the work that we have done with them, please don't hesitate to contact us! Sometimes having a personal contact and experience helps in making the decision to follow suit.

Have a wonderful day,

Until the next blog... :)

I NEED YOUR HELP!

I need your help!!!

To those of your following our blog and viewing our website! We NEED your help! One of my bridesmaids, my best friend Jessica, can not come to the wedding because of Finances. This is extremely disappointing and hurting my heart! She is one of my closest and dearest friends, and I can't imagine my wedding without her in it!

She is the kind of friend that would bend over backwards to help you. She is loving and nurturing and has been to the front door and to the back with me... thick and thin! She even makes a fool of herself just to make me smile! She will sing the song "I'm the one who wants to be with you, deep  inside my heart, I know its true!" just to make you laugh! If you want a cup of tea and a cookie (or french onion soup), call Jess. If you want to watch foreign films and drink red wine, call Jess. When you need to celebrate and you want to hike a mountain or crawl through a canyon, CALL JESS!

But she is a full time student, in engineering and phycology, doing a DOUBLE DEGREE! She is also working full-time as a LPN in a phyc-hospital, doing night shifts, just to make ends meet and save to come to the wedding. She is in Australia and is only a few hundred dollars short of being able to pay for the ticket! But she just told me that she won't have enough money, as ticket prices keep rising!

If ANYONE reading can help me get my best friend, and bridesmaid, to this wedding, PLEASE let Kyle or I know!

Contact details are on our website.

Thank you ... Lynzie.

I (heart) Cake!

Please Welcome...

This company is brand new... and even as I write about them, they have yet to complete themselves as a company... Melissa Harmon is the creator, founder, chef, In-Charge and owner of the company "I (love) Cake".

Melissa has had a love of cake for a long time . She went to university and achieved a degree... but something about it didn't satisfy her.

So... after searching high and low, she finally found a course in culinary arts that allowed her to express her creativity!

Her cakes are really beautiful.

When I met with her, we met a Starbucks (fine coffee is a beautiful thing), and she showed me all of the cakes she has done thus far. Her work with fondant, decorating, and modeling chocolate is stunning!!

I told her all about the sponsorship aspect of the wedding, and I have found that although I will eventually need to have a proposal letter written for each company, at first meeting, its not really needed. It works well to have your ideas and planner with you when you meet a potential sponsor (I didn't have mine at this meeting, and I realized that this is CRUCIAL!).

By the end, she loved what we are doing, and is excited about designing our cake! We even get to sample a little before we decide what recipe we want to use... the only parameter at the moment... CHOCOLATE! And Lots of it!

Feel Free to contact Melissa for your cake needs... she is a delight to work with, and really takes care of her customers!

Until next blog...

It's a brand new week.

Good Thursday Morning to all our Blog readers...

Firstly, let me extent a HUGE "I'm Sorry!" for not blogging sooner. I have to admit that this past week and a bit had been extremely FULL, and although I have meant to write, even in the last 48 hours... until this moment, I have not had head space to sort out the WHAT, or the HOW...

That said, I will NOT make this blog extensive, only long enough to mention one or two things that have happened... I will use the next few days to highlight a few things, so that its not all overwhelming... ha ha.

OK...

The response that we have received from the article that was put out by The Winnipeg Free Press, and the interview with HOT103, was wonderful. The discussion regarding what we are doing, is interesting, and its great to see that people are open to the concept. Now, there are those that are not, but that is okay, they are entitled to their own opinions.

The thing that I found the funniest, was that we were contacted by a woman in Brandon Manitoba. She had come across a thread from the eBrandon website, and sent it my way.  In reading it, I found myself laughing. There were so many judgements made; discussion regarding the basis of our faith, our relationship with God, Kyle's sexuality... It is also funny to note that the basis of argument regarding that site, was simply this... you don't personally know us, and can't know us by simply reading our blog, or looking at our sites. We are doing our best to express ourselves, but to completely know us, you would need to build relationship with us. To that end, that's it. I don't think I really need to comment more on it.

Yet, from this publicity, we have been able to take a look at a number of different potential sponsors, and brought a few of those on board with our wedding! We are really excited, after having met with some of them, that they will be our sponsors!

Keep watch, as in the next few days, I will be mentioning their names, who they are, their contact details, and the story of how they have become our sponsors!

Until then... Stay Blessed!

Lynzie :)

Well, today has been FULL ON! Talk about some craziness starting at 8:15am! Let's go through my (Lynzie) day!

8:00 am - Alarm wakes me up.
8:01 am - Reject Alarm clock.
8:05 am - Get up (although hating the idea, as I am tired and loath getting up in general)
8:15 am - Allow nerves to set in.
8:17 am - Coffee has been made and I want some.
8:20 am - Half my first coffee has already been drunk.
8:30 am - Sheeba (the family dog), has been following me around worried because I am nervous.
8:33 am - over the Radio I hear, "We are going to be talking with Lynzie Causton, she and her fiance are having a sponsored wedding"
Nerves.
8:35 am - *Ring Ring - And on I go...

From this point, to listen to the interview, click the link above...

But seriously, It was a lot of fun! Ace and Chrissy are stunningly nice, supportive and uplifting! I really enjoyed chatting with them! I think the only thing that I regret is that I didn't plug our sponsors individually. I chose, at the time, to plug our sites, in an effort to get the 'interest' peaked and so that people would look us up.

Might not have been the best, but thats okay.

This is trial and error. You do, and you see and you wait. As people have said, 'this has never been done before so we are not use to it'... WHAT? YOU THINK WE HAVE?? ha ha :)

nope.

This is new to us all! All you Manitobans, we are with you! IT'S NEW TO US ALL!

Ace and Chrissy... if you are reading this... I loved talking to you. I hope that you will still be curious about our potential TV debut when it actually happens... I actually think you would be really interested in it!

Well once the interview was done... I had brekky with Kyle and his parents... and we talked about something different. It's nice every now and then to be able to take my mind off today's chaos!

These last 2 days have hit the roof!!!!

I love that we are thinking outside the box and it's allowing creative juices to flow from the minds of people... it is then that change happens. It is then that questioning and reflection happens.

I also love that for the most part, those who understand what we are doing, know that we are not taking the sacredness out of the marriage, but rather, keeping it as such. We are allowing the sacredness of our union, to be kept between us, and not have to worry so much about how things are going to be paid for. I love that people are beginning to trust us, and that I am learning so much more about public relations and media and a little more about business.

This is stunning! I honestly have not stopped smiling for 2 days!

Anyway... the influx of emails, facebook fans and blog hits has been incredible! We are honored that everyone would take an interest in us and we are excited about the future!

Other than having 5 new things that are possibly going to be sponsored, due to the incredible influx of media attention... we recieved another email from a different Radio Station.

CHSM AM1250 will be airing an interview with us tomorrow morning at 8:30am.

Crazy! (As Kyle put it... I know how Britney Spears feels!!!)

I have to say... I had no nerves when we did the second interview! I think after being LIVE on the radio earlier today, that doing a pre-recorded-going-to-be-edited-before-airing piece, was a breeze!!

For us both, it was calm, and we were able to speak with ease!

Now I don't know if I can get a copy of that interview, as it's a smaller, more local station. BUT if you listen, let us know what you think! Leave us a comment and let us know what your thoughts are!

It's crazy how this has taken off! I feel so blessed that we are able to highlight our companies, have this wedding, and make it elegant!

Keep posted for what happens next!!

lots of love,
lynzie :)

The Winnipeg Free Press!

Today in the Winnipeg Free Press, starting on the Front Page, is an article with Kyle and I!

Wow.

So basically, when I woke up this morning, it was because my to-be-mother-in-law, had been told by Kyle to wake me.

"Why on earth... " were the words going through my head... O mean, I was tired, and I didn't have to get up for another hour...

Then he told me that he had been contacted by a radio program, that wanted to interview us because of our article!!

It was only then, that I realized that we had been written about.

The article had been printed and TODAY was going to be bigger than any other planning day so far!

I immediately jumped out of bed and went to my computer to check it out online! I found it on the Free Press website... and through puppy-dog breath, read it aloud to my 'to-be' mother in law! Almost too fast because I kept having mouth malfunctions while I read!

Goodness...

It is stunningly written, and tastefully expresses what we, as a couple, are doing for our wedding! Lindor Reynolds has very well written our story, explaining how a sponsored wedding works, how many sponsors we have, and the reasons why we are having this kind of wedding! A HUGE 'thank you' to Lindor Reynolds, at the Winnipeg Free Press, for all your hard work! You are divine!

I have to say, that it was a lot of work to have this article written. You see, many people believe that their opinion or personal filter has a lot to do with what is acceptable in todays day and age. They believe that through one person's so called 15 minutes of fame, has the right to be judged by them.

In all honesty, I find it really funny. Its almost like a social experiment.

Yet not.

To clear a few things up... just a few of the questions that have been seen in comments...

1. Lynzie (me) not working. We moved to Manitoba in January of this year. I believe it was 3 months ago, yesterday. We do not live in the city, we live in a rural farm town, in Niverville. Although I have looked for work, we decided that I would put my efforts into a sponsored wedding, in an effort to minimize the cost of the wedding. We believe that this will benefit us more, in the long run. We might be wrong, but its what we decided to do.

2. Christians. I believe judgement, from every angle, needs to come from God and not from man. Kyle and I are Christians. We love God whole-heartedly. Anyone who would choose to judge us or what we are doing, should first filter their judgement through God, and then allow the Holy Spirit to guide their decision to judge in the first place.

3. Contact. Comments have been made regarding us, our relationship, Kyle's sexuality, and the like... yet few have actually sought us out and contacted us personally. They would rather state their opinions of us, on a website for the world to see, rather than ask the question that they dare not be judged for asking, to us, to our faces. To those of you who have contacted us directly... thank you, your efforts are not un-noticed.

Kyle and I do not want to appear to be hiding anything. If anyone has a question for us, about us, our wedding, our stunning generous sponsors, what sponsorship is like or so on... Please don't hesitate to contact us (kyleandlynzieswedding@gmail.com) or leave us a message.

As for the good that has come form this... we are honoured and extatic to say that in the next 48 hours, you will hear about 3 new sponsors and what their sponsorship will look like.

3 new sponsors... selah moment. wow.

Praise be to God for answering our prayers and providing what we couldn't.

The Bible talks about vision, direction, blessing, prosperity, work and wise counsel.
For those who have placed the 'christian card' on the table.

A few verses:
Psalm 1
Deuteronomy 28:1-14
Philippians 4:19
Deuteronomy 8:18

Thank you to all who are supporting what we are doing. We love you, we honour you, and we look forward to doing this great journey of life with you!

If you do wish to comment on anything we have said, please do so. Remember, that there is nothing that we need to prove. We are who we are.

Keep smiling... we are! :)

Excitement postponed.

OK so today was suppose to be a really exciting day.

Part of me cannot say why, but lets just say that planning this sponsored wedding is really hard work! I know that from the post that I put up last night (which was meant to go up last week, when I was really feeling the frustration), that you will all know that I was frustrated but I think shedding a little light on this will help.

I need to have a 'rise up' moment and get over myself. Its not about me. People will make decisions and ask you things, and you need to comply when the authority to choose otherwise resides in their hands, not yours.

Over the last 2 weeks, I found myself not wanting to blog as much, simply because there were some things (backlash, outrage etc) that were said by people, that had Kyle and I on shaky ground.

Should we really be planning this sponsored wedding.

Can we accomplish it.

Are we REALLY focused on doing our best for others, and not just ourselves.

Are we greedy?

As these words kept being thrown into a pot of doubt, one to which I didn't voluntarily start brewing, I began to allow it all to stew. And anyone making soup will know that you have to let all the ingredients boil together to really release their flavor and maximize their potential.

Question: Whose hands is this wedding in? Yours or Gods?

As a Christian that answer should come easily to me, however combining the frailty of my mind and shaky confidence in what we are doing due to un-kind words tossed to and fro; it has taken a few days, and a few prayers... and finally and throwing of my hands in the air... I am not in control.

All I can do is trust.

This the reason that I didn't write anything over the last 2 weeks. I began to doubt where my trust was, and why I am putting so much into this sponsored wedding, yet receiving such un-kindness from certain outlets. That being said, at the end of this past week, Good Friday came. Literally.

Now, honesty for honesty sake, I am still uncertain of how to pull off some of this, but I have to realize that I will eventually get see the fruition of hard work.

To give you a taste of what has been said...

1. You are greedy... look at all those gift registries.

2. You just want a free wedding.

Now I will not justify those statements with an outlandish answer as to why I know that they are wrong. I would only be putting myself in the hands of those ready to crush and grind. However, I will say these two things.

1. We have a number of friends and 'family' that are overseas and can not afford the trek to Winnipeg to come and be apart of our blessed day. Yet they have expressed an understanding of who we are, and want to support us as we venture out into marriage. One of the ways of doing this is through purchasing a gift online and having it delivered to us, through our registered store. And as we have no previous 'house ownership' or 'home furnishings', being registered at a number of stores that have a 'completion program', allows us to have a fixed discount on items not purchased as gifts for an entire year following our 'i do' day! And everyone knows that a discount, as small as it is, can go a long way!

2. I recently viewed a YouTube video of a couple in the USA, in their attempt to have a sponsored wedding. Thing is, they really do want a free wedding. They are not doing anything for their sponsors. They simply were asking for 'donations' as sponsorship. Kyle and I believe whole-heartedly in each of our sponsors and have considered them and their ability and financial commitment to our wedding, before we move forward with sponsorship. We want to be able to help propel our sponsors toward their future goals and help them achieve an audience that they would otherwise not normally reach. I think that the true heart of a sponsored wedding must come from a couple wanting to secure their future marriage and not be in debt going into a new life together, while helping others and putting others before themselves.

Just a few thoughts on the happenings of the past few weeks.

I promise that from here on out that the good, the bad and the ugly... but mostly the amazing (said in faith), will be what is spoken about here...

so keep reading... We still have 100 days (EXACTLY!) until our wedding!!

A frustrated moment last week.

Today I feel like this is not worth it.

I know thats not the case, but its really hard.

There is SO much time and effort that goes into this 'sponsored wedding', and yet sometimes I feel like I am not availing much with it. I feel like I am getting no where.

Okay, so you know that saying... 'two steps forward, one step back'?

How often does it happen with you are planning something? I feel like that is what is happening with this wedding. And sometimes I feel like because of this, that the positive response that we get from everyone we talk to, may not be real. If you look online, it confirms what a few media outlets have said about this type of wedding.

It goes against tradition. Plain and simple.

I guess attack is just getting to me.

I pray that something changes soon. Please God. Thanks and Amen.
